On the 14th June 2014, we went to Adelaide Zoo for our excursion. We went to visit the giant pandas, Wang Wang and Funi who are on a special mission as a symbol of Sino-Australian friendship to strengthen joint collaborative research. China Wildlife Conservative Association and the Adelaide Zoo, Australia has signed a cooperation agreement to carry out a ten-year cooperation research on project giant panda protection. Wang Wang, male, was born in Wolong base of China Conservation and Research Centre for the Giant Panda (CCRCGP) on 31 August 2005. He likes to eat fresh bamboo shoots. He is docile, intelligent and well behaved. Finu, female, was born in Wolong base of CCRCGP on 23 August 2006. She is lively and intelligent and likes to climb trees and play with water.
Children were involved in all aspects of cultural learning: calligraphy, Chinese cultural dance, Chinese flute, martial arts, paper-cutting, making Chinese knots and sports activities. Children were exposed to new activities which challenged their ‘comfort zones’ and learn about cooperation with others.

Parts of Beijing have been shut down several times, allowing for rehearsals of a once-in-a-decade military parade, multiple artistic performances and shows, fireworks and more. Security concerns are high as well, bringing out large details of security personnel and equipment. Our students made posters and colouring to highlight this important day.
Participation in ANZAC DAY Project
Our students participate in the Knowing About ANZAC DAY project. Posters and a colouring competition were strongly welcomed. The students were taught about languages and characters related to ANZAC DAY.
